🧭 Help: Manage Search Terms

This page lets you manage the official search terms for any project.

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Select your Project from the dropdown at the top of the page.
  2. View Current Search Terms
All approved search terms for the selected project appear in the left card.
  3. Edit a Search Term
Click Edit on any row to change the search term, common name, or scientific name. Click Save when done.
  4. Generate New Terms with Grok (Recommended)
In the middle card, enter a Search Terms Directive (what Grok should look for), then click Generate New Search Terms with Grok.
  5. Add Terms Manually
In the right card, paste one search term per line. Choose whether to Append or Replace All existing terms.
  6. Bulk Actions
Use the checkboxes on the left card to select multiple terms, then use Delete Selected or Cancel Selection.

Project Exclusions

Project Exclusions are managed in Admin → Projects → Edit Project (not on individual search terms). These are phrases that, if found in a study from PubMed, OpenAlex, Europe PMC, PLOS, YouTube, or RAG questions, cause that study to be automatically dropped for the whole project.

This is useful for ambiguous acronyms. For example, on a Brain-Computer Interface project you might add bilateral cochlear implantation (BCI) so cochlear papers are not confused with neural BCI work.
